A new style with over three years of development. inspired by the typical beach bum pooka necklace but reworked in a way only GOOD ART could do.
Gone are the shells. replaced with a bespoke sterling silver clasp system which clicks-in from both ends. In true GOOD ART form the experience of using this object is half of the fun and impossible to convey in the written word. If you're a person who appreciates tactical. mechanical things then you'll appreciate its action.
Over a year ago. we spoke with Josh about what makes him—and GOOD ART—tick. One of the topics we broached was a prototype of what would become the Pooka Necklace. In our chat we discussed the intricate steps in creating this unique piece:
I've been working on this thing for over two years. trying to fine-tune the sound it makes. I wanted the perfect mechanical noise.
When we got to discussing the 'chain' it took a considerable amount of time for Josh to describe the process. Each is made from authentic. top-grade vintage bandanas which are split and woven into the a cord. When questioning him about why it's worth doing this in-place of simply using an off-the-shelf item his reply was sharp and clear:
The people who buy our pieces trust that we go further than anyone else — we do things nobody in their right minds would do! There's things most people will never know or even appreciate. but we do them because it's the only way we know.
